Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
  • A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of Massachusetts or an active license from another state with reciprocity with Massachusetts
  • Passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination
  • Demonstrable proficiency in compounding of prescriptions, drugs, chemicals, and pharmaceutical supplies required in the operation of a pharmacy
  • Dispense medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects
  • Conduct drug utilization reviews, counsel patients on proper use of medications and evaluate medication use patterns and outcomes leveraging adherence best practices
  • Apply knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the legal operation of a pharmacy to comply with laws, regulations, and policies governing pharmacy operations
  • Provide oversight of CMOP facility by developing and implementing operational procedures, maintain accurate records and document actions while safeguarding confidentiality of medical records
  • Apply inventory control expertise in establishing medication-handling procedures for storage and preservation of medications
  • Communicate effectively with fellow medical professionals and patients; develop harmonious professional relationships with clinic staff
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians in the performance of work related to sterile products, prescription filling, and ward/clinic supply

Responsibilities
  • Pharmaceutical verification of prescription orders of legend, over the counter, medical-surgical, and controlled substances to patients requiring care
  • Provide patient consultation
  • Quality improvement and supply control duties
  • Direct the delivery of pharmacy services, efficient and effective drug distribution, and education to improve patient quality of life, minimize therapeutic risk, and enhance clinical outcomes
  • Leadership attributes in Pharmacy management to ensure delivery and attainment of patient care quality metrics
  • Evaluate the performance of Pharmacy Technicians duties and drive client satisfaction outcomes
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a CMOP setting or federal supply chain operations preferred
  • Additional certifications such as Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or other relevant specialty may be preferred
  • Experience with sterile compounding and ward/clinic supply handling preferred
  • Strong knowledge of CMOP policies, procedures, and compliance requirements preferred
