- A high school diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.

- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- One accepted medical assistant credential: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant from the National Healthcareer Association; Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants; Clinical Medical Assistant Certification from the American Medical Certification Association; Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification from an accepted listed certifying organization.
- Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally, patient movement, keyboard use, and occasional driving.
- Assist with provider-ordered treatments under the supervision of a provider or registered nurse and perform select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, record information in patient charts, and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
- Order and stock supplies and help maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Document provider encounters with patients when assigned, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
- Transcribe provider orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Maintain constant alertness and perform work safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience and expertise are preferred but not required.
- Comfort with hands-on patient care.
- Openness to new experiences and challenges.
