Battle of the Builders: friendly competition, real partnership. Power Design Inc. recently hosted Battle of the Builders, an event at TGL in South Florida that brought together several of its longest-standing construction partners for an afternoon of friendly competition. The idea behind it was simple: some of the strongest relationships in this industry are built well beyond the jobsite, through years of collaboration, trust, and mutual respect. Check out the fun | Power Design Inc. were proud to welcome teams from John Moriarty and Associates, Moss, Juneau Construction, Coastal Construction, and PMG, general contractors Power Design Inc. has partnered with on project after project. Battle of the Builders offered a chance to step outside the day-to-day and celebrate those partnerships in a different setting. The energy was there from the start, with each team bringing a competitive edge to every round. In the end, the Power Design team came out on top, but the result was almost secondary to the larger point of the day: bringing its partners together, strengthening those relationships, and having some fun along the way. Events like this are a good reminder that the strongest partnerships are built on more than contracts and schedules. To its friends who joined Power Design Inc. for the fun: thank you for your continued partnership and for helping make Battle of the Builders a success - catch you on the greens next year.

People first: A new standard for wellness in construction. Construction has always been built on grit, long days, early mornings, and pushing through. Power Design has never been interested in doing things the way they've always been done, and its approach to wellness is no exception. For over a decade, Power Design, Inc. has invested in building a culture where its team can train, compete, and grow together, whether they're on the GRID or out bringing buildings to life in the field. From stretch routines and safety-driven training on jobsites to on-campus fitness and wellness resources, its focus has always been on supporting the whole person - an evolution led by its Wellness Manager, Shelly Scamardo, who took a leap from Tampa General Hospital ten years ago after seeing the vision firsthand. Fitness and wellness have always been my passion; I've been teaching it since I was 18. At Power Design, I've had the opportunity to watch that passion grow into something much bigger. What excites me the most isn't just how far Power Design, Inc. has come as a company, but how Power Design, Inc. is helping push the entire industry forward. Power Design, Inc. is showing that taking care of your people isn't a perk - it's essential to how they perform, how they feel, and how long they can do what they love. Shelly Scamardo | Wellness Manager Backed by leadership that believes in doing things differently, that vision has continued to grow. Now, Power Design, Inc. is taking it even further with the expansion of its wellness space and the addition of a dedicated recovery center designed to support the whole person - physically, mentally, and long-term. Because high performance doesn't just come from pushing harder, it comes from recovering smarter. Inside the New Space One of the biggest barriers to wellness is access. So Power Design, Inc. removed it. With more ways than ever to train, recover, and recharge - alongside ongoing resources like biometric screenings, mammograms, dermatology visits, and more - Power Design is making it easier for team members to prioritize their health, with no extra time, and no added hassle. Leaders are even empowered with monthly wellness budgets to invest directly in their teams, because taking care of people shouldn't be an afterthought. Every detail was grounded in human-centered, research-backed design, rooted in environmental psychology and biophilic principles that influence how people feel, move, and recover. From the moment you walk in, the goal is simple: create an immediate shift. The space intentionally moves away from the high-energy feel of the rest of campus. Instead, it leans into calming blues and greem, softened materials, and organic shapes that reduce stress and help the body relax before your brain even has to think about it. Angelica Maldonado | Interior Designer Even elements that might seem subtle, like the removal of harsh contrasts, the use of deep blue tones instead of black, or the semi-private recovery areas, are rooted in psychology. It's not just a wellness space, but an environment designed to support how people actually function. Bigger Than Just a Space This isn't only an upgrade, it's a shift in how the construction industry thinks about its people. For too long, the expectation has been to push through, ignore the aches, skip the doctor, grab another energy drink, and keep going. At Power Design, Power Design, Inc. is changing that by investing in recovery, education, and accessibility to help build careers that last longer, feel better, and perform at a higher level. The future of construction isn't just about what Power Design, Inc. build, it's about who Power Design, Inc. build it with and how Power Design, Inc. take care of them along the way.
