Cyndi Lauper will get her first official WWE action figure. Mattel Creations announces a WWE Elite pack exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con. The set will pay tribute to the Rock 'N' Wrestling era of the 1980s. Mattel Creations has just announced a new WWE Elite pack of three figures to pay tribute to the "Rock 'N' Wrestling" era of the 80s. This pack will consist of three action figures: Captain Lou Albano, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and Cyndi Lauper, with this being the first WWE figure of the popular singer. The pack is set to be sold exclusively at the upcoming edition of San Diego Comic-Con. Lauper, one of the most popular singers of the 80s, had a prominent role in the first edition of WrestleMania, where she starred in a segment with Wendi Ritcher. The singer also worked with Lou Albano as part of the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection. Albano, on the other hand, appeared in Lauper's 1983 music video for "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." Lauper would return to WWE on an episode of Raw Supershow in June 2012, where she starred in a segment with Roddy Piper, Layla, Wendi Ritcher, and Heath Slater, with the latter taunting the singer. Lauper ended the segment by smashing a Gold Record, previously given by Piper, over Slater's head. The singer also had a recurring role in the series "Young Rock," based on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's youth on his way to becoming a WWE superstar. In this case, Becky Lynch was chosen to portray Lauper in several episodes of the series.
Toy Story 5 merch is everywhere as Disney and Mattel renew vows. Toy Story 5 lands in theaters on June 19, and Disney is making sure you cannot miss it. After the film's Los Angeles world premiere on June 9, the studio rolled out what it calls the biggest and most varied Toy Story product lineup ever, timed to the franchise's 30th anniversary. A licensing deal 30 years in the making. The headline business news: Disney and Mattel have renewed their longstanding global licensing agreement, timed to the film's release and three decades of Woody and Buzz. That partnership stretches back to the original 1995 film, making it one of the most durable licensing relationships in the toy business. What's on Shelves. Mattel's Playscale Interactables lead the wave, with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Forky and new character Lilypad figures that chat individually and even recognize and talk to each other. LEGO has announced new builder sets, Funko has seven Pop! figures for collectors, and LeapFrog's Lilypad learning toys are already at Walmart. Beyond the toy aisle. The rollout goes well past toys. AT&T has turned retail stores into "Bonnie's Room," an immersive in-store experience running June 8 through July 9. Luggage brand Away rolled out kid-friendly Toy Story suitcases on June 9, and Disney Parks and the Disney Store have their own dedicated collections. For one summer at least, the toys really are everywhere. Kyra's take. Toy Story is older than me by a lot, and it is still the franchise every toy brand wants. What I love about the Interactables is that the toys talking to each other is basically the plot of the movies coming true. Ten-year-old me would have saved up for months for these. Honestly, fifteen-year-old me might too. The 30th anniversary timing is smart, because parents who watched the first movie as kids are now buying tickets and toys for their own kids. OpenAire to build Retractable Roof buildings for Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks. OpenAire has been selected as the structural partner for the Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks(TM)- a landmark series of branded aquatic destinations being developed in partnership with American Resort Management and Martin Aquatic. Each park will be housed inside a custom-engineered, all-aluminum retractable roof enclosure designed, fabricated, and installed by OpenAire. What OpenAire Is Building Each enclosure spans 185 feet in width and runs approximately 375 to 400 feet in length, with 35-foot glass sidewalls and vertical glass ends. The motorized retractable roof panels open to bring in natural light and fresh air - transforming what would otherwise be a conventional indoor waterpark into an open-air experience on demand. The structures are engineered from painted, corrosion-free aluminum, purpose-built to perform in the specific climate conditions of each park's location - whether that means heavy snow loads, tropical rain, or hurricane-force winds. Energy Efficiency and Operational Savings OpenAire's motorized roof and operable window systems are engineered to deliver an estimated 15% in annual energy savings compared to conventional indoor waterpark buildings. For operators, that translates directly to lower overhead and a more sustainable facility over the long term. Why Retractable Roof Structures Are the Right Fit for Waterparks Indoor waterparks present one of the most challenging environments for any building system - high humidity, constant chemical exposure, and demanding year-round operational schedules. OpenAire's all-aluminum construction is maintenance-free and specifically engineered to withstand these conditions without the corrosion issues that affect steel-framed alternatives. What the Partners Are Saying Richard Coleman, CEO of American Resort Management, noted that "placing these parks inside energy-efficient, retractable roof aluminum buildings allows them to operate more cost-effectively than traditional indoor waterparks." Having worked with OpenAire on previous projects, Coleman said the structures "meet and exceed all expectations" - and that this project will set a new global standard for branded waterpark destinations. Mark Albertine, CEO of OpenAire, pointed to the broader significance of the project: "engineering structures that handle the harsh chemical realities of a waterpark environment while simultaneously reducing energy costs makes the indoor waterpark model economically viable for municipalities across the country." About This Project The Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks will integrate iconic Mattel brands - including Barbie(R) and Hot Wheels(R)- across a full range of aquatic attractions: lazy rivers, wave pools, and waterslides. OpenAire's role spans the complete building process: design, engineering, fabrication, and installation, with every structure backed by a minimum five-year warranty. About American Resort Management Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, American Resort Management, LLC (ARM) is a leading destination resort management and development company with extensive experience in lodging and resort operations, specializing in indoor/outdoor waterpark resorts, family entertainment centers, and destination resorts.
