Requirements
  • One to three years of experience in reviewing title work, landowner acquisition, permitting, and related real estate tasks.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal statutory requirements for voluntary and eminent-domain land acquisitions and real estate permitting.
  • Experience with electric transmission and/or oil and gas linear acquisition projects is preferred.
  • Ability to perform legal document searches and title reviews.
  • A Wisconsin and Minnesota real estate license, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in varied and remote settings, in the field and with clients and other professionals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of ArcGIS software and Google Earth.
  • Ability to navigate to and locate specific properties in the field.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away from home for up to 50% of the time.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours.
  • A current valid driver's license and a personal vehicle suitable for field work.
  • Willingness to travel and work in field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral interactions with landowners, clients, stakeholders, and governmental agencies.
Responsibilities
  • Establish trust and build the foundation for long-term positive relationships between clients and landowners.
  • Make independent decisions while working with landowners and project stakeholders throughout project duration.
  • Coordinate meetings with landowners and project stakeholders at project sites or mutually agreeable locations.
  • Negotiate and secure fee titles, easements, leases, licenses, permits, and ordinances.
  • Estimate areas of potential damage before construction.
  • Perform land sales research.
  • Explain project scope, timelines, processes, contracts, financial agreements, and other pertinent information to landowners.
  • Provide regular status reports to project managers on assigned land acquisition and permitting tasks.
  • Prepare necessary agreement documents and permitting forms for projects.
  • Represent the company at public meetings before municipalities, zoning boards, townships, and similar governmental organizations.
  • Support right-of-way acquisition, land leasing, permitting, and construction activities for oil and gas, wind, solar, and transmission projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in right-of-way acquisition, real estate sales, lease negotiation, renewable development, or equivalent related experience.
  • Previous right-of-way or real estate project experience.
  • Ability to work independently in field and remote settings.
  • A Wisconsin and Minnesota real estate license, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience with ArcGIS software and Google Earth.
