About The Role

As a Software Engineer at Baton, you’ll partner closely with our Co-Founders, Head of Product Design, and Head of Engineering to develop high-quality product solutions for business owners, buyers, and our internal team. You’ll work cross-functionally to deliver continuous value to our users and the business. You’ll play a critical role in bringing our product and engineering culture to life.

Our tech stack consists of:

• NextJS, GraphQL, React and Typescript on the Frontend,

• Golang on the backend,

• Python for data pipelines all orchestrated by Prefect.

All our services run on AWS and are powered by Docker and Terraform. Our databases run on PostgreSQL.

On a day-to-day basis, you will...

• Partner closely with our co-founders, Head of Design and Head of Engineering to scope, plan and build:

  • Frontend components to power a delightful user experience

  • API services that power Baton’s suite of client and internal tools

• Make informed decisions that will enable us to scale without compromising quality.

• Research and evaluate implementation options, build testable MVPs, document engineering plans

You have...

• 3+ years of experience in software development in a SaaS or fintech startup environment

• Experience designing and implementing software systems, especially in a full-stack capacity

• The ability to make technical decisions quickly, while looping in key stakeholders

• Worked with at least one interpreted language (such as Python or JavaScript) and at least one compiled typed language (such as Golang)

• Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code and AWS

• A product-first mindset and a track record of building strong cross-functional partnerships

• A passion for helping people become successful small business owners and get paid for their life’s work
