Requirements
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and applicable regulations.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing assignments, and nursing-service schedules with assigned staff and support personnel.
  • Review and recommend revisions to department policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, and nursing procedures.
  • Prepare written and oral reports and recommendations concerning shift activities.
  • Coordinate nursing services with resident services and other departments to maintain each resident’s total care regimen.
  • Participate in the nursing service quality assurance program and facility surveys conducted by authorized government agencies.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete the associated forms, records, reports, and documentation.
  • Maintain resident records, census reports, charge slips, medical forms, charts, nurses’ notes, incident reports, transfer forms, and discharge documentation.
  • Receive telephone orders from physicians, transcribe physician orders, record diet changes, and report discrepancies to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies, and ensure narcotic records are accurate.
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment; report medication or narcotic discrepancies; review medication cards; and dispose of drugs and narcotics according to procedure.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and recommend dismissals or transfers to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Develop work assignments, conduct rounds, provide leadership to nursing personnel, address staffing issues, and report problem areas.
  • Ensure nursing assistants are enrolled in or have graduated from approved training programs and that nurse aide trainees work under licensed-nurse supervision.
  • Receive and give nursing reports at the beginning and end of shift duty.
  • Provide information about new admissions, prepare rooms, greet and orient residents and families, and coordinate admissions and discharges.
  • Review resident charts, care plans, treatments, medications, diets, and physician orders; notify physicians and next of kin of changes in condition or incidents.
  • Arrange diagnostic and therapeutic services and transportation, conduct physician rounds as necessary, and coordinate social and activity programs with nursing schedules.
  • Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs, including self-help and care.
  • Provide professional nursing services including catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurement, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Monitor seriously ill residents, dietary compliance, resident safety, treatment administration, and the care provided according to resident care plans and wishes.
  • Conduct resident and family meetings, address complaints and grievances, report deaths, contact funeral homes when requested, and follow post-mortem procedures.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct in-service training; orient new employees; standardize work methods; and assist with clinical supervision of nurse aide trainees.
  • Attend continuing education and facility training programs covering occupational safety, tuberculosis, health information privacy, abuse prevention, infection control, and advance directives.
  • Monitor safety, sanitation, hand hygiene, infection control, personal protective equipment use, fire drills, disaster preparedness, hazardous-condition reporting, and safe equipment operation.
  • Maintain adequate medication, medical-supply, equipment, and personal protective equipment stocks and report unit needs.
  • Review resident care plans daily, identify needed revisions, ensure nursing notes reflect care-plan implementation, and assist with Minimum Data Set assessments and care-plan revisions.
  • Provide requested data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee and report suspected fraud involving false billings, cost reports, or kickbacks.
  • Protect resident health information and facility-system credentials, report unauthorized access attempts, and ensure workstations are secured.

PACS Group beats Q1 estimates with $0.50 EPS and $1.42B revenue despite 12.5% year-to-date stock decline

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has acquired Ridgeway Senior Living, a post-acute care facility in Anchorage, Alaska, marking its fourth property in the state. PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
