Requirements
  • A Master's degree is required.
  • At least 5 years of successful management experience in a Registrar's office or similar office in higher education is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Solomon Amendment, with working knowledge of Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System reporting requirements, is required.
  • A record of successful leadership in developing and providing enrollment management strategies, services, and programs at a university, including applying computer technology and information systems and services, is required.
  • The ability to provide leadership, motivate and energize colleagues, effectively manage departments and programs, and work effectively and efficiently to deliver services and programs to diverse faculty, staff, student populations, and the wider campus community is required.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, follow through on tasks, and meet deadlines is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, including the ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships with diverse staff, faculty colleagues, and students, are required.
  • Effective listening and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse populations, are required.
  • The ability to think creatively and strategically is required.
  • The ability to anticipate and recognize customer service needs of students, faculty, schools, and the college and translate those needs into effective customer service delivery is required.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the University's leader in developing and delivering services and programs related to student records, transfer credit articulation, registration, enrollment, and graduation.
  • Plan and direct the management of student records maintenance, transfer credit articulation, registration, enrollment verification, and transcript services for regular academic programs and continuing education unit programs.
  • Direct the implementation of efficient processes and procedures that ensure the security and integrity of student data and records.
  • Serve as the University's compliance officer for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the Solomon Amendment, and other externally imposed state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and publish the academic calendar in collaboration with the Provost and Council of Deans.
  • Oversee the development and online publication of the university course Catalog.
  • Oversee the development and online publication of the Schedule of Classes.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of transfer credit articulation agreements with California and selected out-of-state community colleges.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and use of the University's Transfer Credit Evaluator portal, enabling prospective transfer and enrolled students to see how prior-institution coursework will be articulated at USF.
  • Administer the online end-of-term Teaching Effectiveness Survey, including developing and distributing summary reports.
  • Serve as the University's primary contact for external agencies such as the National Student Clearinghouse and Veterans Administration.
  • Plan and direct graduation activities, including maintaining the online degree audit system, degree clearances, and diploma production and mailing.
  • Oversee the coordination of fall and spring University commencement ceremonies, including regalia, diploma scrolls, ceremony programs and scripts, commencement marshals, photographers, setups, and facilities.
  • Provide staff and faculty training and development on student information system features, including add-on applications.
  • Manage general inventory classrooms and oversee classroom scheduling for each term.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the continued development and maintenance of the online student information system, Banner.
  • Plan, develop, and oversee Registrar and Graduation/Commencement budgets.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements with major vendors for commencement regalia, photography, software licenses, commencement ticket services, diploma production and mailing, transfer-credit course data research, and document destruction services.
  • Serve on university-wide committees and represent the Office of the University Registrar and the Vice Provost for Student Success, Inclusive Excellence, and Curricular Innovation on university-wide committees and work groups.
  • Represent the University at professional meetings and consortia such as AJCU-CORe, PACRAO, AACRAO, and Banner Users.
  • Supervise the Senior Associate University Registrar and two Associate University Registrars.
  • Serve as a member of the Vice Provost for Student Success, Inclusive Excellence, and Curricular Innovation leadership team.
  • Periodically join Strategic Enrollment Management leadership team meetings upon invitation.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.

University of San Francisco appoints Brent Blaylock as athletic director

The University of San Francisco has appointed Brent Blaylock as its new Athletic Director, effective immediately. Blaylock most recently served as Executive Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer at Oregon State University. Blaylock brings over 20 years of experience in collegiate and professional sports. At Oregon State, he led day-to-day operations and oversaw philanthropic and revenue generation initiatives whilst supervising several sports programmes including football and men's basketball. Previously, he held various positions at the University of Arizona from 2017 to 2024. Stephanie Shrieve-Hawkins, who served as interim athletic director since October 2025, will return to her role as deputy athletic director for administration and facilities. USF sponsors 14 NCAA Division I programmes competing in the West Coast Conference.
