About the company

Gunnison County administers local government services for residents and businesses in western Colorado, from public safety to land use and public health. It maintains roads and bridges, runs the county airport and landfill, and manages property assessment, vehicle registration and public records. A board of three elected county commissioners governs the statutory county alongside separately elected officials responsible for offices such as sheriff and clerk. Property and sales taxes, grants and service charges fund its departments and public facilities through an annual county budget. Established in 1877, the county government is based in Gunnison, Colorado, its county seat.
