  • A State of Florida General Radiographer License is required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail is required.
  • The ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines is required.
  • The ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion is required.
  • The ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary is required.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the performance of procedures through the operation and supervision of radiographic equipment and personnel.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and daily administrative duties of the section to ensure efficient workflow, compliance with budgetary policy, high-level quality care, and compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission, departmental, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the daily activities and operations of Interventional Radiology to ensure efficient operations, quality and timely results reporting, and consistent customer service.
  • Oversee quality control for all accreditation programs within Interventional Radiology annually.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology.
  • Perform the full array of Interventional Radiology cases to support the technologist team and Interventional Radiology physicians.
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed to support the department.
  • Provide support to Interventional Radiology providers performing procedures under the direction or supervision of a radiologist using age-appropriate standards of practice.
  • Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, oneself, and others in accordance with Florida radiation protection statutes and regulations and University of Miami policies and procedures.
  • Orient new personnel to department operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan, supervise, and conduct in-service training programs.
  • Coach and counsel personnel on individual work performance.
  • Provide mentoring, promote idea sharing with direct reports, and support staff participation in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain ownership of annual reviews with guidance from the Interventional Radiology Director.
  • Conduct monthly Interventional Radiology staff meetings in collaboration with the Interventional Radiology Director.
  • Perform monthly audits of Interventional Radiology imaging, evaluating quality of work, dose management, and proper documentation.
  • Manage expenses associated with staff, supply inventory, and equipment maintenance, focusing on efficiency and cost savings.
  • Assist in developing capital requests and provide feedback to the Director regarding staffing and equipment needs.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
