Security Officer
About the job
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have experience as a door staff professional or in a receptionist, customer service, clerical, hotel, or restaurant position.
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to meet the physical essential functions of the job, which can include lifting 50+ lbs., completing foot patrols, walking up and down stairs, and working in inclement weather.
- Provide customer service to all parties encountered while on duty, including assisting with directions and general business information.
- Maintain clear, accurate administrative logs pertaining to incident reports, visitor check-ins, and property.
- Monitor security guard cameras and conduct patrols to guard against theft and maintain a safe environment.
- Respond to incidents, including emergencies at the property, and record data on incidents for buildings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Conduct foot or vehicle patrols as a rover, detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, theft, and other criminal behavior.
- As a gate officer, check in visitors and contractors, inspect vehicles, and control access.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
- Security, law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.
