About the job
- At least 2 years of successful electrical engineering experience in a product design and manufacturing environment; experience with high-power lithium-ion batteries is a plus.
- Experience supervising PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, manufacturable placement strategies, power and signal plane definition, and electromagnetic compatibility optimization.
- Experience using Altium Designer for schematic and printed circuit board layout design.
- Experience selecting high-current power semiconductors, including insulated-gate bipolar transistors, metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors, and diodes, and designing gate drive and protection circuits.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and power converter circuit simulation tools.
- Experience selecting and using digital signal processors, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry, including signal conditioning and board-level power supplies.
- Knowledge of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for automotive, industrial, and residential applications.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Design and develop digital and analog electronics for control of high-electronics systems.
- Own control boards and other electronics from specification through design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical, digital control, thermal design, and manufacturing test engineers.
- Perform product-level electrical design, including component selection, branch circuit design, and insulation coordination.
- Collaborate with the battery management system hardware and firmware engineering team to design, validate, and deploy testing tools.
- Experience with high-power lithium-ion batteries.
