SilverEdge Cooperative

SilverEdge cooperative. Is Raymond James Financial stock underperforming the S&P 500? Aritra Gangopadhyay Barchart 1 hour ago With a market cap of $32.9 billion, Saint Petersburg, Florida-based Raymond James Financial, Inc. (RJF) is a diversified financial services company that provides private client group, capital markets, asset management, banking, and other services to individuals, corporations, and municipalities in the United States and internationally. Companies with a market cap of $10 billion or more are typically referred to as "large-cap stocks." RJF fits squarely in that category, with a market cap above this threshold that reflects its size and influence in the asset management industry. Despite its strength, RJF stock slipped 6.5% from its 52-week high of $182.73, reached on Aug. 6. The stock is up 10.6% over the past three months, rallying the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 2.5% rise during the same time frame. However, the scenario changes in the longer term. The stock has risen marginally over the past 52 weeks, while SPX delivered 15.7% returns over the same time frame, outperforming the stock. RJF has been trading above its 200-day moving average since July, but below its 50-day moving average since this month. RJF's short-term outperformance can be traced back to its better-than-expected Q2 2026 earnings. The company's revenue for the quarter rose 28.4% from the prior year's quarter to $4.4 billion and surpassed the Street's estimates. Moreover, its adjusted EPS also came in at $3.14, surpassing the consensus estimates. Management cited robust growth in its assets under management as the primary driver of its growth. When stacked against its rival, Ares Management Corporation (ARES), RJF has outperformed. Over the past year, ARES stock has declined 28.1%. Analysts' view of RJF stock is somewhat bullish. Among the 16 analysts covering the stock, the overall consensus rating is "Moderate Buy." Its mean price target of $185.87 offers an 8.8% upside potential.
