Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or a related field, with a focus on individual case reporting, aggregate reporting, and safety signal monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations, guidelines, and requirements, including ICH, FDA, and EMA.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to critically evaluate safety data.
  • The ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee service delivery to the client, including mobilization of required resources and management of their performance.
  • Manage risks, issues, and escalations with the client ESP Management liaison.
  • Ensure efficient and compliant delivery of pharmacovigilance services and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and patient safety.
  • Ensure optimum deployment of people and resources to deliver business results and maintain efficiency and quality of operations.
  • Manage Team Leads and Tower Leads against individual and group performance targets and address daily issues.
  • Analyze management information systems data and take corrective action where required.
  • Work with process owners to resolve differences, define issues, organize cross-project sub-teams, and review recommendations.
  • Direct a business group or sub-division of a business group.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and project delivery and deliverables.
  • Monitor overall morale and personnel needs for the group.
  • Sign off on promotion and compensation changes.
  • Determine and lead hiring and staffing, including recruiting efforts with Recruitment and Human Resources.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and employee relations, including signing off on terminations.
  • Interact with and manage clients at all levels of the client organization.
  • Assist in leading the group in business and industry strategy.
  • Work with enabling services to ensure uptime of services, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Work with Human Resources and recruitment to ensure timely mobilization of manpower, including defining job descriptions and selecting candidates when required.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members and foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Set performance expectations and objectives and assess team performance against key performance indicators and service level agreements.
  • Oversee end-to-end individual case safety reporting and ensure timely and accurate submission of adverse event reports to regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain project management oversight of aggregate safety reports, including Periodic Safety Update Reports and Development Safety Update Reports, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee monitoring and analysis of safety data to identify potential safety signals and lead their investigation and assessment.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance regulations, guidelines, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Implement quality management systems and processes to maintain data integrity, accuracy, and completeness in pharmacovigilance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address compliance or quality issues and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with client and internal stakeholders to support project-level pharmacovigilance activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization to improve efficiency and scalability of pharmacovigilance operations.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and drive innovation and best-practice adoption within the pharmacovigilance function.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with safety database systems such as Argus and ARISg and safety signal detection tools.
  • An advanced degree such as PharmD or PhD.

Accenture partners with AWS to deliver cloud and AI tools for mid-sized companies

Accenture has announced a new collaboration with Amazon Web Services to deliver cloud and AI offerings specifically for mid-sized companies generating between $300 million and $3 billion in annual revenue. The technology bundle, available through AWS Marketplace, includes tools for virtual machine migration, cloud spending optimisation, security strengthening, and AI system risk testing. The offerings fall under Accenture Edge, a dedicated business unit serving mid-market clients. The collaboration also provides conversational AI, virtual agents, and customer service technology. 407 ETR, a Toronto-area electronic toll highway operator, is cited as an early customer.
