Responsibilities
  • Help establish and implement programs and initiatives for the Production Planning and Scheduling area under direct supervision.
  • Contribute to less complex components of projects, programs, or processes for the Production Planning and Scheduling area.
  • Coordinate supply planning, purchasing, and production scheduling activities for managed products.
  • Determine production plans and, in association with the value-stream partner, ensure timely completion of planned production.
  • Manage on-time supply to customers.
  • Monitor the production planning system using performance metrics such as schedule attainment and lead time.
  • Complete simple trend analysis to support continuous improvement efforts for the organization's production strategy.
  • Analyze product demand, sales patterns, forecasts, production specifications, and plant and supplier capacity data.
  • Identify and drive Lean or Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
  • Support evaluation of current processes and transition to improved future processes with the wider global Production Planning and Logistics team.
  • Review shortage reports to ensure materials arrive in time to meet production requirements.
  • Manage raw material and component supply to support Operations.
  • Review capacity loads to identify potential manufacturing constraints and work with Operations, Engineering, and Quality partners to resolve and mitigate supply challenges.
  • Manage and maintain raw material inventory investment according to inventory entitlement models and drive improvement opportunities.
  • Measure supplier performance, identify performance issues, and work with suppliers to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Support evaluation of potential new suppliers.
  • Serve as a key member of relevant new product launch teams.
  • Identify key stakeholders and establish effective communication plans across customers, commercial partners, suppliers, global supply chain, and site departments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to project management methodology would be an advantage.
