Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the assigned curriculum program and provide written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student differences.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment to accommodate the individual needs of assigned students.
  • Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students according to Individual Education Plans.
  • Assess student achievement consistently through formal and informal testing.
  • Provide a positive example for students that supports the mission of Haven Schools.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, regulations, and Individual Education Plans.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with students and their parents.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
  • Comply with policies and procedures established by Bay Haven Charter Academy, Inc., its Board of Directors, and Haven Administration.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
