We are seeking world-class developers that design and develop Cohesity SmartFiles for our on-prem as well as SaaS offerings
Cohesity Data Platform is a limitless scale out system. It is the industry’s only hyperconverged platform crafted to consolidate ALL secondary storage and data services built on web-scale distributed architecture. Cohesity SmartFiles modernizes and simplifies data management, privacy, and control by providing one solution for multiple workloads. It empowers you to efficiently and securely govern data at scale, drastically reduce costs, and create limitless value from organizational data. It has native support for NFS, SMB, and S3 that ensures broad compatibility across users and applications whether on-prem or in the cloud!
There will be a large variety of features to work on including: hyper-convergence, distributed data path, distributed filesystem, data across thousands of nodes, object storage, cloud services, asynchronous programming, performance optimization, software-defined infrastructure, consensus protocols, massively parallel and distributed data sets, infinite scalability, resiliency, multiple protocols, fault-tolerance, infrastructure and more that we cannot disclose yet.
How you’ll spend your time here
As part of this core development team, you will design and build massively distributed systems at web scale. You will build the core backend of the Cohesity SmartFiles product and related features.
What we are looking for:
- 3-5 years infrastructure, backend development experience (or equivalent M.S. degree)
- M.S. in Computer Science or related field
- Have worked on and understand large scale engineering challenges and highly available distributed systems.
- Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing
- High level programming and debugging skills in C, C++, Golang or Java
- Familiarity in distributed storage, filesystems, object storage is a huge plus
- Efficient skills to solve complex problems. Experience with debugging, diagnosing, and fixing complex, production software.
- Work in a fast paced and agile development environment with ability to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
- Possess excellent communication and sharp analytical abilities
Bonus (Nice to Have) Skills:
- Focus on data and/or AI
- Understanding of NAS, filers, and/or file systems
- Knowledge of NAS protocols such as: SMB, CIFS, NFS, or S3
- Experience in disaster recovery and/or replication
Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time. $144,000—$180,000 USD
