Job Description

The Technical Trainer at Kite is responsible for performing and coordinating all technical writing related activities for the Manufacturing group, including collaborations with key personnel in other departments to ensure proper implementation of Kite policies and procedures. This role develops training documentation using standard operating procedures, subject-matter expert input, and operational processes and delivers instructor-led and on-the-job training, including demonstrations, practice, and skills assessments. The Technical Trainer coordinates curricula, qualifications, learning resources, and training records in partnership with key stakeholders.

This position is based in Frederick, Maryland, and is fully onsite Monday through Friday.

As a Technical Trainer at Kite, you will...

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain training and procedural documentation using standard operating procedures, subject-matter expert input, and operational processes, including coordinating document review, approval, issuance, implementation, periodic review, and retirement.
Deliver, document, and track instructor-led and on-the-job training, including demonstrations, practice sessions, and skills assessments, in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures.
Create hands-on simulations, presentations, and other learning materials covering procedures, job expectations, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing operations.
Create, update, and maintain curricula, employee qualifications, and associated training materials aligned with designated manufacturing job roles.
Lead or coordinate technical training facilitation and qualification activities.
Schedule trainers, rooms, learning resources, and required training activities, including GMP, Human Resources, and Environmental Health and Safety training.
Maintain training assignments, completion information, and other records within the Learning Management System.
Align standard operating procedures and other technical documents with instructor-led, computer-based, and on-the-job training materials.
Incorporate feedback from subject-matter experts and procedural document teams to accurately document current and future processes.
Provide regular updates to management on Manufacturing Training program activities, status, and initiatives.
Prepare and communicate monthly Manufacturing training metrics.
Perform compliance self-audits as required.
Support change controls, corrective and preventive actions, and deviations in collaboration with Site Manufacturing Technology and Manufacturing Science and Technology teams.
Manage multiple training and documentation assignments while identifying or escalating risks to timelines and deliverables.

The salary range for this position is: $80,325.00 - $103,950.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Novel CAR-T therapy shows promising safety and durable responses in hard-to-treat multiple myeloma. Published September 23, 2026 In a phase 1 clinical trial, participants had a high response rate to anito-cel, an investigational CAR-T therapy A phase 1 clinical trial led by investigators at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute and the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center has found that an investigational CAR-T therapy can lead to deep and durable responses in people with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma. Results are published in The New England Journal of Medicine. Patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma often run out of effective treatment options after multiple rounds of therapy. Contributing to this challenge is the fact that some existing CAR-T cell therapies targeting BCMA, a protein expressed on the surface of myeloma cells, have been linked to rare but serious neurological side effects. The research team reported the results from a Phase 1 clinical trial of anitocabtagene autoleucel (anito-cel), an investigational BCMA-targeted CAR-T cell therapy that is being developed by Kite, a Gilead company. All 38 treated participants responded to the therapy, and nearly 80% achieved a complete response. Many experienced long-lasting benefits, with more than half remaining progression-free two years later and 65% still alive after three years. Serious immune-related and neurological side effects were uncommon, and no delayed neurological complications were reported. "These were great results for a Phase 1 trial," said senior author Michael R. Bishop, MD, Professor of Medicine and Director of the David and Etta Jonas Center for Cellular Therapy at UChicago Medicine. "Even at a low dose of anito-cel, we were seeing complete responses in the majority of patients right off the bat, and not a single patient developed severe toxicities, so we wanted to investigate further why that might be." Based on their laboratory analyses, the researchers hypothesized that anito-cel's engineered BCMA-binding domain maintained cancer-killing activity while limiting excessive immune activation and other features that can impair CAR-T cell function or contribute to toxicity. "The absence of neurotoxic and inflammatory side effects in this phase 1 study is particularly encouraging, given the serious and potentially lasting impact of these complications," said lead author Matthew Frigault, MD, vice chair of Clinical Research in Hematology/Oncology and deputy program director of the Cellular Immunotherapy Program at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute. "The novel D-domain binder may contribute to this finding, and the combination of compelling efficacy and encouraging safety data lay important groundwork for continuing to investigate this new treatment option for patients." Anito-cel is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials to confirm these findings in larger populations of patients with multiple myeloma. The agreement covers both new and existing sites within Kite's treatment center network, with Cencora's services intended to support a seamless experience across health systems and community oncology practices as the network grows.[1] According to Cencora, through its cell and gene therapy (CGT) service line, the company provides manufacturers with integrated solutions across the product lifecycle from market entry through commercial execution.[1] That end-to-end infrastructure is central to what Kite is looking to leverage as it scales. Why does patient access to CAR t-cell therapy remain a challenge? CAR T-cell therapies are autologous - manufactured from a patient's own T-cells - demanding a complex supply chain and access profile. Each treatment requires precise coordination between the treatment center, the manufacturer, and the distribution network, with timing that can directly affect patient outcomes. A January 2026 analysis reported that 65% of community oncologists noted patients deteriorate before CAR T administration, with payer approval timelines cited as a rate-limiting factor.[2] A national survey of oncology professionals conducted by the Association of Cancer Care Centers identified travel distance to an authorized treatment center, ability to travel for evaluation, ability to meet caregiver requirements, affordability, and prior authorization delays as the top five obstacles to timely CAR T evaluation, underscoring that the access problem is both clinical and operational. "Our focus is on ensuring every appropriate patient who needs our CAR T-cell therapies can access and benefit from these treatments," said Christophe Griolet, US vice president and general manager at Kite.
