Yet they reveal a company balancing customer demands, production realities and the need to stand apart from its own forthcoming R2. Base prices hold steady. The R1T starts at $79,990 and the R1S at $83,990. But entry models now come with more capability baked in. Ars Technica first outlined the tweaks in early August, noting unchanged headline range figures of 329 miles base and up to 410 miles for the R1S or 420 for the R1T with the larger battery. Those numbers mask a significant shift underneath. Rivian has discontinued the smaller 92.5-kWh Standard battery pack for dual-motor variants. The 105.5-kWh Large Pack becomes the new baseline.
