Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience engineering telemetry, log, or event data pipelines at enterprise scale.
  • Experience building and operating a telemetry routing tier such as Cribl Stream, OpenTelemetry Collector, Vector, Fluent Bit, or Logstash, including schema design, parsing, normalization, reduction, and retention tiering.
  • Experience with a query language, including SPL, DQL, LogQL, PromQL, or KQL.
  • Experience managing data volume, cardinality, and cost under volume-based or consumption-based licensing.
  • Experience managing configuration as code, including infrastructure as code such as GitOps practice and Terraform, across multiple environments.
  • Experience writing production code in a language such as Python, working against REST APIs, and administering Linux and Windows systems.
  • Ability to learn new query languages.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Build and evolve the telemetry pipeline that carries logs, metrics, and events across every accredited environment, including sources, parsing, enrichment, normalization, routing, and destinations.
  • Engineer the Splunk log platform from distributed architecture and index design through data onboarding and search performance.
  • Automate source onboarding end to end so that adding a data source is a pull request rather than a ticket, with all pipeline configuration managed as code under GitOps.
  • Apply AI tooling to parser generation, schema mapping, and normalization.
  • Instrument the pipeline to detect its own failures, including silent sources, schema drift, and volume and cost anomalies, before downstream systems are affected.
  • Design reduction, cardinality, retention, and masking strategies that control cost, protect sensitive data by destination, and keep the operational record provable.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing OpenTelemetry Collector processors and pipelines at scale.
  • Experience handling personally identifiable information or sensitive data in telemetry, including masking and in-flight data-protection controls.
  • Experience applying AI tooling to data engineering work, including parser generation, schema inference, or anomaly detection on data flows, and validating the output before trusting it.
  • Experience with Department of Defense cloud environments such as Azure or AWS IL5/IL6, including change control and continuous monitoring obligations.
  • Experience with Common Information Model-compliant data engineering.
  • Cribl Certified Observability Engineer or equivalent certification.
  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect Certification.

HiddenLayer raises $100M Series B to secure AI agents and autonomous coding systems

HiddenLayer, an AI security company, has raised $100 million in Series B funding led by Delta-v Capital. Participants include Ten Eleven Ventures, Morgan Stanley, M12, and Booz Allen Ventures. The Austin-based firm secures agentic, generative, and predictive AI applications. It will use the capital to expand its enterprise platform, including Agentic Runtime Security and Agent Harness Security, which protects autonomous coding agents at runtime. HiddenLayer's annual recurring revenue grew more than tenfold, and it signed over 50 new platform customers across sectors including banking, pharmaceuticals, and US defence. The company supports a frontier model provider serving more than 700 million weekly users. HiddenLayer's research team holds 39 granted patents and 65 pending patents in adversarial detection and model protection. The firm recently appointed Mike Gesnaldo as chief revenue officer.

Booz Allen unveils Counter AI defence tool as frontier models achieve fully autonomous network intrusion

Booz Allen Hamilton has released a threat report revealing that advanced AI models can now autonomously execute complete network intrusions without human guidance. The firm tested 18 US and Chinese AI models through its Cyber Weapon Index. The report warns that sophisticated cyberattacks are becoming more accessible as costs and expertise requirements decline. Booz Allen found that coordinated Counter AI defences reduced autonomous attacker success by more than 95% in testing. To address these threats, the company launched Vellox Labs Guile, a Counter AI product designed to disrupt autonomous attacks by manipulating what AI attackers see and trust. The system adapts in real time using frontier AI models to evolve its defences against emerging threats. The report emphasises that entire AI systems, not just individual models, now represent the primary unit of cybersecurity risk.

Booz Allen Hamilton beats profit expectations despite revenue miss, eyes AI and cyber growth

Booz Allen Hamilton reported second quarter results that beat profit expectations despite a slight revenue miss. Revenue reached $2.8 billion, down 4.2% year-on-year and marginally below the $2.82 billion analyst estimate. Adjusted earnings per share of $1.81 significantly exceeded the $1.48 forecast. CEO Horacio Rozanski attributed profitability to disciplined execution and early benefits from shifting towards outcome-based fixed price contracts. The company's cyber and defence technology focus, particularly its Agentic AI-powered Vellox cyber suite, drove operational results. COO Kristine Martin Anderson noted momentum in national security whilst acknowledging near-term civil business headwinds from contract roll-offs and fewer new programme starts. Operating margin improved to 10%, up from 8.8% in the prior year period. Analysts questioned management about funding uncertainties, portfolio shaping, and the margin impact of fixed price contract transitions.
