- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meet all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health/Orlando Health and the unit or department.
- Maintain a current State of Alabama registered nurse license or valid enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact multistate registered nurse license.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
- Maintain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Trauma Nursing Core Course certification when required for the applicable area.
- Maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification when working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Have one year of experience unless approved by an Assistant Vice President level or above.
- Provide care to patients requiring complex assessments, intensive interventions, and continuous high-level nursing vigilance.
- Use patient data to anticipate, adapt to, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Identify and prioritize information to take decisive, evidence-based, patient-centered action.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording data from intracranial pressure, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, and cardiac rhythm devices, including cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, and oxygen pumps.
- Respond to life-saving situations according to nursing standards and protocols.
- Coordinate care and delegate appropriately to other team members for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient care, including patient assessments, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety activities, in accordance with required and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of unit-specific patient care equipment.
- Continuously prioritize patient care according to evidence-based practice standards.
- Identify and resolve problems.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable organizational, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Perioperative or critical care experience.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
