About the job
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred)
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or formal mentoring experience
- Strong knowledge of: Nonconformance management and MRB processes, Root cause and corrective action methodologies, Contract review and customer quality requirements
- Experience working within a formal Quality Management System (AS9100 or equivalent)

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers to support production, problem resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
- Promote a prevention‑focused, data‑driven quality culture across the organization.
- Own and manage the Quality Clinic process, ensuring timely containment, disposition, and escalation of nonconforming material.
- Chair or provide delegated leadership for the Material Review Board (MRB), ensuring technical rigor, risk‑based decisions, and documented justification.
- Participate in and support Contract Review activities related to quality, inspection, testing, regulatory, and customer‑specific requirements.
- Lead or support Customer Return Reviews while serving as a key point of contact for customer quality issues, including corrective action responses and follow‑up.
- Drive structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., RCCA, 8D, DMAIC, PFMEA).
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to reduce scrap, rework, and defect recurrence.
- Use data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and drive long‑term quality performance.
- Ensure Quality Engineering activities comply with AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and PPG internal procedures.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits, including preparation, execution, and corrective action follow‑up.
- Aerospace transparencies, composites, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with customer audits and customer return investigations preferred
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred
- Experience with digital quality systems and analytics tools helpful

Steelcase names proven growth leader Irene Tasi as president. Experienced commercial and innovative leader will guide the Steelcase business as the company builds on its design leadership, dealer network and customer-focused strategy. GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., September 9, 2026 (Newswire.com) - Steelcase today announced Irene Tasi has been named president of Steelcase and will lead the business effective September 14, 2026. Tasi brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience with a track record leading complex businesses through growth, portfolio development, commercial execution, and organizational change. Shilpi Verghese, Ph.D., joins PPG as Patent Agent in Biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. * 09.08.26 PPG is pleased to announce that Shilpi Verghese, Ph.D., has joined the firm as a Patent Agent in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. With more than 16 years of research experience in the life sciences, Dr. Verghese brings knowledge spanning cancer biology, molecular biology, genetics, and gene regulation. She will assist with prior art research, patent application drafting and patent prosecution before the USPTO and correspond with foreign associates to guide the prosecution of foreign applications. Her work includes 11 peer-reviewed publications, including research and review articles and a book chapter. Her research has given her a broad understanding of the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying development and disease. She developed an interest in intellectual property and the commercialization of scientific discoveries through her work with Emory University's Office of Technology Transfer, where she gained experience evaluating emerging technologies for intellectual property protection and commercialization. She subsequently pursued patent law training and is a registered patent agent before the USPTO. Dr. Verghese earned her B.S. in Biotechnology from Loyola Academy in India and her M.S. in Biotechnology from BIMR & College of Life Sciences in India. Responding to this shift, PPG has introduced F3621 Delfleet Medium Bright Metallic, the latest addition to its premium Delfleet 419M Ultra High Solids range. Replacing the previous F3609 Delfleet Bright Metallic, the new formulation has been developed to deliver a smoother application process while producing a cleaner, more consistent metallic finish. According to PPG Key Account Manager, Commercial Coatings, Chris Rovere, metallic direct gloss systems have become the benchmark across the commercial transport sector, placing greater emphasis on products that are both easy to apply and capable of delivering repeatable, high-quality results. Historically, achieving an even metallic appearance has been one of the biggest challenges for painters. The coarse silver particles used in traditional formulations could lead to mottling and patchiness, creating inconsistent finishes that required greater skill and rework. The new Medium Bright Metallic addresses these issues by improving metallic laydown and mottle control, allowing painters to achieve a uniform, high-gloss finish straight from the spray gun. Importantly, the application process remains unchanged. Instead, the innovation lies within the formulation itself, which creates a smoother, more refined metallic effect without altering the existing Delfleet colour range. The result closely resembles the appearance typically associated with a basecoat and clearcoat system, while retaining the efficiency of a single-layer direct gloss application. Like the broader Delfleet range, the new metallic coating has been engineered to withstand demanding Australian conditions. Extensive testing for UV stability, corrosion resistance and salt spray performance ensures the product delivers the durability expected across heavy transport, construction and agricultural applications. PPG today announced the launch of the PPG ONE RANGE(TM) portfolio of five one-component marine coatings at the SMM 2026 maritime industry trade fair in Hamburg, Germany. Designed to simplify onboard fleet maintenance, the portfolio helps crews complete maintenance projects more efficiently with ready-to-use, one-component coating solutions.
