Requirements
  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy
  • A Board certification
  • At least seven years of clinical medicine experience
  • An active Texas medical license and in good standing
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional medical expertise in all areas of occupational medicine for the company.
  • Partner closely with claims adjusters to provide medical expertise throughout the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of workers’ compensation claims, including participation in medical round tables, case reviews, and strategic claim guidance.
  • Act as a liaison and advisor for insurance associates communicating with healthcare providers and directly engage with medical providers when necessary.
  • Examine evolving medical trends, factors, and costs and develop mitigation and/or improvement plans as necessary in an agile and adaptable manner while remaining data-driven demonstrates appropriate risk analysis.
  • Provide treatment plans and reserve guidance to adjusters on high severity claims.
  • Prepare and deliver training to clinical and non-clinical insurance associates using video recordings, live presentations, and written material.
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise and continuously seek opportunities to expand insurance knowledge and advance clinical skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong background as an orthopedic surgeon, physical medicine & rehabilitation, or occupational medicine
  • Experience with musculoskeletal injuries and treatment plans
  • Experience in long-term medical care, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities
