Emerson provides automation technology for critical industries. It supplies software and intelligent devices that monitor, control, and optimize industrial processes in settings like power plants, chemical facilities, and factories. Its products include sensors, controllers, measurement instruments, and software that work together to automate operations, improve safety, and increase efficiency. Unlike many peers, Emerson has narrowed its focus from a broad conglomerate to a dedicated industrial automation company, combining hardware, software, and services and expanding through targeted acquisitions (such as National Instruments) to deliver end-to-end automation solutions. Its goal is to help modern industries run more reliably and efficiently by providing integrated systems that manage complex processes.

Emerson launches DeltaV automation platform to accelerate AI data centre deployment

Emerson has launched its DeltaV Automation Platform for Data Centers, targeting AI-scale facilities requiring rapid deployment and reliability. The platform provides unified monitoring and control across thermal, mechanical, and electrical subsystems, replacing fragmented point solutions with integrated architecture. The system aims to accelerate project delivery by decoupling hardware and software, enabling parallel execution whilst standardising equipment-level control. It incorporates embedded AI technologies for real-time insights and lays groundwork for autonomous operations. According to Nathan Pettus, president of Emerson's process systems and solutions business, the platform addresses compressed project timelines driven by AI data centre demand. The portfolio includes DeltaV distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers designed for dynamic load management. Emerson positions the platform as addressing gigawatt-scale facility requirements through repeatable designs and lifecycle optimisation across multiple facilities.
