Requirements
  • Engineering Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve, lead business discussions, and train others.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to be flexible in hours of work to meet internal and external customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Handle projects from inception to completion, including justification, project writing, timelines, budgets, concept, feasibility, design, PFMEAs, project planning, construction, update meetings, try-out, launch, and final buy.
  • Conduct equipment and process capability and throughput studies using Overall Equipment Effectiveness, make recommendations, and lead changes to achieve improvements.
  • Conduct industrial engineering studies, assessments, and recommendations.
  • Conduct packaging assessments, studies, costing, and recommendations.
  • Evaluate, assess, and recommend plant layouts.
  • Develop interactions and relationships with equipment suppliers, integrators, vendors, and customers.
  • Prepare reports, charts, and presentations for the senior leadership team.
  • Work with all departments and customers to design solutions that improve production efficiency, quality, safety and ergonomics, and throughput.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise equipment relocation, modification, installation, and maintenance.
  • Assist in setting up preventive maintenance programs and spare parts for new equipment.
  • Assist in resolving quality, operational, production, layout, and maintenance concerns.
  • Review, coordinate, and implement customer-approved engineering changes, including part-level communication updates, physical part updates, process-sheet updates, and physical tooling changes.
  • Understand process documentation and customer-specific requirements related to the job function.
  • Prepare and lead PFMEAs, Safety Work Instructions, Lockout Placards, time studies, throughput capability studies, and packaging activities.
  • Follow and comply with operational procedures and policies in the health and safety, quality, and environment programs, including IATF 16949, TS16949, and ISO 14001.
  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act and JFE Shoji Power Canada supplier, contractor, environmental health, and code-of-conduct requirements.
  • Ensure equipment and process changes comply with current health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support for Quality, Production, and Maintenance.

  • Metal forming experience is an asset.
  • Ability to travel globally 5–10%.
