Werfen's Aptiva APS IgA reagent receives US FDA clearance and CE Mark

Werfen has received US FDA 510(k) clearance and CE Mark for its Aptiva Antiphospholipid Syndrome IgA Reagent. This approval completes Aptiva's APS testing portfolio, which now offers all three APS isotypes — IgA, IgG, and IgM — for anti-cardiolipin and anti-beta 2 glycoprotein 1 antibodies. The reagent uses Aptiva's particle-based multi-analyte technology for semi-quantitative determination of antibodies in human serum. When used with other Aptiva APS reagents, the IgA assay provides additional diagnostic information to aid in diagnosing primary and secondary APS. Antiphospholipid syndrome is an autoimmune disease characterised by thrombotic events and pregnancy complications. Access to a complete APS antibody profile may provide clinicians with valuable diagnostic insight for patient management decisions. Aptiva is a fully automated multi-analyte system designed to streamline autoimmune testing workflows.
