Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Active or past involvement in a Formula Student team, ideally in chassis and suspension design or vehicle dynamics simulation.
  • Familiarity with the Formula Student rulebook and design constraints.
  • Eagerness to learn text-based physics configuration using JBeam and basic scripting.
  • Ability to explain complex engineering problems clearly in writing.
  • Familiarity with BeamNG, Visual Studio Code, Blender, and Git or SVN is advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
  • Develop the physics model of a Formula Student race car in BeamNG using JBeam.
  • Create or adapt the vehicle's 3D mesh for visual representation.
  • Select and integrate chassis, suspension, wheel, and powertrain configurations.
  • Implement simulation scenarios for core Formula Student dynamic events.
  • Develop documentation and tutorials to support future Formula Student teams in using BeamNG for virtual vehicle testing.
