Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws pertaining to collection activities and mechanics lien laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.

  • Ability to remain professional in confrontational conversations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs.
  • At least two years of prior credit and collections experience is required.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required infrequently.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, measure, and monitor all credit risks associated with the company's business operations.
  • Perform and review complex and detailed financial evaluations of companies to assess their creditworthiness.
  • Negotiate credit terms and approve new purchasing activities.
  • Determine appropriate credit or financial risk exposure and escalate credit issues to upper management when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies related to credit risk management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate potential credit risks.
  • Review new credit applications for completeness.
  • Review credit reports and references when setting up new credit accounts.
  • Identify and track delinquent accounts.
  • Contact delinquent accounts to obtain payment and resolution.
  • Manage accounts by investigating, granting, and overseeing balances and credit lines.
  • Set up job accounts for new and existing projects.
  • Send invoices and statements as needed.
  • Contact clients to negotiate new payment terms or settlements.
  • Work with internal staff and external customers to build client relationships.
  • Send lien notices and file liens on projects.
  • Refer accounts to outside agencies for further collection efforts as needed and assist with related activities and legal actions.
  • Assist in generating consolidated invoices for select client accounts as needed.
  • Generate reports as requested by management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
