Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy is required.
  • California state licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required.
  • Two years of counseling experience is required, preferably with SFAF's priority communities.
  • Experience with, or interest in, providing services to people with active injection, non-injection, and/or alcohol use in a care model accepting goals ranging from managed use to targeted abstinence to full abstinence.
  • Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, and the ability to diagnose according to it.
  • Knowledge of the CBHS electronic medical record and Epic is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Stonewall's internal electronic health record, Welligent, is a plus.
  • Experience working in low-threshold walk-in centers or milieu-based community mental health settings is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the enrollment process from start to finish, including intake appointments, paperwork, and assigning participants to counselors.
  • Assess and diagnose participants using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition.
  • Support the counseling program in maintaining day-to-day contract compliance and program enhancements to ensure quality assurance.
  • Provide group and individual integrated mental health, substance use, and HIV counseling and treatment.
  • Support staff and management with electronic health record system duties, including running reports, entering data, and providing ongoing data platform training.
  • Provide administrative supervision for one to three staff counselors and clinical supervision and consultation to staff counselors and clinical interns.
  • Coordinate and manage care for substance use and mental health program participants, including matching participants with counselors, managing transfers and client flow, care planning and coordination, initial diagnosis, and supporting clients exploring alcohol or other substance use.
  • Work with program leadership, Department of Public Health electronic health care staff, and other team leaders as the electronic health record system specialist.
