Electrical Service Team Leader
About the job
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- A minimum of four years of experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse electrical service issues is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and approval to drive by the company’s insurance carrier are required.
- The role requires organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- The role requires analytical skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- The role requires customer service skills and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
- The role requires functioning in a team environment.
- The role requires ability to use a computer tablet and smartphone, and to read a map or follow GPS.
- The role requires working outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions at least 50% of the time.
- The role requires climbing ladders and steep stairs, and frequently standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching; work often occurs in tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
- The role requires lifting 50 pounds and pushing, pulling, carrying, or maneuvering heavier items.
- The role requires occasionally working at heights up to 15 feet above ground.
- The role requires carrying a 24-foot extension ladder alone and/or a 40-foot extension ladder with a coworker on most jobs.
- The role requires good visual acuity.
- Applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screens and background checks.
- Provide electrical service and/or repair to customer units as needed.
- Coordinate with utility service providers and local code officials to establish proper guidelines.
- Complete required service documentation and collect, record, and deliver fees to the designated office administration.
- Facilitate orders for appointment parts and ensure preparedness for the service day.
- Submit purchase orders to dispatch or designated purchasing team administrators.
- Facilitate rescheduling customer appointments when calls cannot be completed.
- Transport materials and tools to job sites and account for assigned tools.
- Keep the truck clean, stocked, and accurately inventoried.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet job objectives effectively and completely.
- Inform a manager if a customer does not have electrical services before leaving the call.
- Communicate the benefits of Club Memberships.
- Manage operational metrics, including average invoice total, callback ratios, and labor margins.
- Train, coach, and mentor technicians and apprentices.
- Investigate reported safety issues.
- Support the manager as a resource who can make decisions on behalf of the company for the technician team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A state electrical license is preferred.
