Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, forward-deployed engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Regular travel of approximately 50% to government partners and company offices is expected.
Responsibilities
  • Travel with go-to-market teams to agency sites across the United States and serve as the technical lead in pursuing new government business.
  • Run discovery with agency leaders, program offices, and technical staff to map mission workflows, data landscapes, and constraints, then translate them into actionable solution designs.
  • Build and deliver demos, proofs of concept, and technical proposals tailored to each agency's mission problems.
  • Own the technical narrative through the deal cycle, including solution architecture, security and compliance requirements, FedRAMP, authorization to operate processes, data governance, integration scoping, and pilot success criteria.
  • Support capture and proposal efforts with technical volumes, responses to requests for information and requests for proposals, and architecture documentation.
  • Partner with Deployed Engineering to ensure that sold solutions are delivered and that pilots convert to long-term production deployments.
  • Feed customer insight back into the product organization, including deal blockers, agency responses, and future mission opportunities.
  • Help build the government sales engineering playbook, including demo environments, technical collateral, and repeatable proof-of-concept frameworks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling into the United States public sector, including federal, state, or local government, with working knowledge of government procurement, contract vehicles, and security and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, impact levels, and authorization to operate processes.
  • Technical depth to discuss artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, application programming interfaces, data integration, and government cloud environments with agency engineers and chief information officers.
  • Ability to build demos, script prototypes, or debug proofs of concept independently.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to travel extensively across the United States.
  • Eagerness to own problems end-to-end and acquire necessary knowledge to complete the work.
