Engineering Management

About the job

Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in data center infrastructure deployment, rack integration, technical program execution, cloud capacity delivery, critical facilities operations, network deployment, construction turnover, or similarly complex infrastructure environments
  • Strong experience coordinating cross-functional deployment work in mission-critical, high-availability, large-scale, or hyperscale technical environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules, deployment dependencies, operational risks, vendor performance, field execution milestones, and stakeholder escalations
  • Experience supporting rack deployment, rack energization, server/network infrastructure readiness, structured cabling, supply/logistics coordination, asset readiness, or data center capacity delivery
  • Strong understanding of data center operations, including power, cooling, space, network, change control, safety, security, access control, documentation, and operational turnover expectations
  • Proven ability to operate independently, influence senior stakeholders, and drive accountability across teams without direct reporting authority
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Regular attendance, schedule flexibility, and the ability to support deployment activities during planned maintenance windows, energization events, turn-up milestones, or critical escalations may be required
  • Discipline in safety, quality, and operational handoff readiness as part of deployment execution
Responsibilities
  • Own rack deployment planning and execution across assigned sites, campuses, regions, or strategic capacity programs, with clear accountability for safety, schedule, quality, and operational handoff readiness
  • Translate capacity, network, supply chain, and site readiness inputs into executable deployment schedules, milestone plans, dependency trackers, and field execution priorities
  • Coordinate rack placement, logistics, cabling readiness, power and cooling availability, network readiness, energization sequencing, validation, and turnover activities across internal teams and deployment partners
  • Drive readiness gates covering MEP status, commissioning prerequisites, rack elevations, materials availability, labor planning, site access, security requirements, change controls, procedures, and operational acceptance criteria
  • Identify schedule, quality, safety, supply, vendor, or site-condition risks early; escalate clearly; and drive cross-functional recovery actions to protect deployment commitments
  • Support rack energization and turn-up activities by ensuring required approvals, MOPs/SOPs, communications, safeguards, rollback plans, and operational stakeholders are in place before execution
  • Develop and reinforce repeatable deployment playbooks, checklists, reporting mechanisms, and lessons-learned loops that improve deployment consistency and reduce rework across sites
  • Track and report deployment KPIs, including schedule adherence, blocker aging, deployment throughput, quality findings, rework, readiness gaps, energization progress, and turnover completeness
  • Partner with vendors, contractors, and field teams to ensure execution meets OCI standards for safety, workmanship, documentation, security, and issue closure
  • Ensure clean handoff to Data Center Operations with validated assets, complete documentation, known-risk closure, open-item ownership, escalation paths, and no unresolved latent operational risk
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in hyperscale data center environments, AI infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale hardware deployment is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with rack deployment workflows, rack elevations, power/cooling capacity checks, structured cabling standards, network turn-up, deployment quality controls, and operational acceptance criteria
  • Experience with CMMS, DCIM, asset management, ticketing, deployment tracking, change management, ERP/MRP, supply planning, or operational reporting platforms
  • Familiarity with MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, commissioning documentation, turnover packages, change controls, safety permitting, and data center security protocols
  • Project management, Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL, PMP, or similar operational/process certification is a plus
  • Experience working with third-party deployment vendors, cabling contractors, logistics providers, technical service partners, or managed service providers is preferred

Oracle urges FERC to fast-track gas pipeline for $1.1B Project Jupiter data centre

Oracle has urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to speed up approval of the 17.8-mile Green Chile pipeline in New Mexico. It says delays threaten its Project Jupiter data center campus. The pipeline would carry about 400 million cubic feet of natural gas a day to power the site's microgrid, which uses Bloom Energy fuel cells. Its start date has slipped to February 2027 from August, after local opposition forced developer Transwestern Pipeline Co. to move the route onto federal land. Environmental groups and New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez want FERC to review the data center and pipeline together. Oracle has considered trucking in gas for early commissioning work. In a letter to FERC on Tuesday, Oracle said the four-building campus would support nearly 5,800 peak construction jobs and generate up to $1.1 billion in annual economic output for Doña Ana County.

Oracle vs Intuit: why Oracle's 30% cloud growth beats Intuit's cheaper valuation

A Motley Fool analysis picks Oracle over Intuit as the better tech stock to buy in 2026, though it flags risks at both companies. Intuit posted fiscal 2026 revenue of $21 billion, up about 14%, with net income near $4.6 billion and free cash flow of $8.6 billion. It trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 13.1x, against 17.4x for Oracle. The author warns it could be a value trap as cheaper tax tools threaten its individual customer base. Oracle reported revenue of about $67 billion, up 17%, and net income of $17 billion. Free cash flow was negative at nearly $5.4 billion. Its debt-to-equity ratio fell from 3.6x in May to 2.3x in August. The author favours Oracle for its cloud backlog and 30% revenue growth last quarter.

PowerPlan launches supported Enterprise Adapter for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, ending custom code

PowerPlan, a financial software provider for asset-intensive companies, has launched an Enterprise Adapter for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. The Atlanta company announced the product on October 13, 2026. The adapter gives customers a standard, supported way to bring Oracle financial and project data into PowerPlan's Project and Asset Accounting solution. It replaces the custom integrations many teams now maintain themselves, which grow costly as cloud software updates frequently. "We support the connection and maintain it as both platforms evolve, so our customer teams don't have to," said Todd Bransford, chief product officer at PowerPlan. The adapter is available now. It is part of PowerPlan's growing suite of Enterprise Adapters.
