Requirements
  • A master's degree and an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs-accredited institution, or a qualifying Rehabilitation degree.
  • Certification as a School Counselor.
  • Eighteen graduate hours in each teaching field.
  • Evidence of excellence teaching in online or hybrid formats.
  • Experience advising and/or supervising counseling students.
  • A Texas Licensed Professional Counselor license by hire.
  • Knowledge of Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs and Texas certification requirements.
  • Ability to teach in multiple instructional modalities.
  • Ability to mentor students and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Ability to travel independently to other or remote locations by driving and/or flying on commercial airlines.
Responsibilities
  • Teach graduate counseling courses in multiple modalities.
  • Coordinate the School Counseling and Guidance program.
  • Teach and supervise field practicum for school counselor candidates.
  • Advise, mentor, and supervise students.
  • Develop course materials aligned with accreditation standards.
  • Support program leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in department, college, and university service.
  • Support Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs and Texas certification compliance.
  • Assist with recruitment, advising, and retention.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating graduate counseling programs and supporting accreditation.
