"Rush delivery" might best describe the moves Carvana made this week. In addition to extending its partnership with Rush Soccer (more on that below), the automotive ecommerce platform announced that it would be expanding same-day vehicle delivery to the greater Jacksonville, Fla., area. Through this expansion, select Jacksonville area customers can receive their vehicle the same day they order it on Carvana.com, and local sellers can arrange same-day pickup and drop-off when they complete the Carvana appraisal process. "After serving car buyers and sellers in the Jacksonville area for many years, we're excited to introduce an even faster and more convenient Carvana experience with same-day delivery," said Jacqueline Hearns, Carvana's senior director of market operations and expansion, in a news release. "As we continue expanding our logistics network and regional operations, we're making it easier than ever for eligible customers across Jacksonville to buy or sell a car on their schedule," Hearns said. Carvana launched its same-day delivery service in Arizona and it is now available in select markets throughout 20 states. It plans continue scaling same-day delivery regionally alongside its expansion of national logistics and reconditioning infrastructure. Carvana extends youth soccer partnership. The other move Carvana made this week was just for kicks. The company said Tuesday it has agreed to a multi-year extension of its partnership with Rush Soccer, said to be the largest youth soccer club in the world. Carvana will remain the front-of-kit sponsor on all Rush game jerseys. Additionally, Carvana and Rush are launching a $200,000 youth soccer scholarship fund to help reduce financial barriers for players throughout the league. Applications open Jan. 1 and families can apply through their local Rush club. The league is releasing new, custom-designed team jerseys with Carvana's branding in January. The partnership will continue to include Carvana activations at select Rush events and content collaborations. "Carvana has been an incredible partner from day one, and this renewal takes that commitment even further," Rush Soccer CEO Justin Miller said in a news release. "The scholarship fund helps ensure cost isn't what keeps a kid from playing. Together, Carvana and Rush are setting the standard for what a partnership in youth sports should look like." Carvana co-founder and chief brand officer Ryan Keeton added, "We're proud to continue our partnership with Rush Soccer and expand our support for the players and families who are at the heart of it. We've seen how much being part of a team can mean to young athletes, and we're excited to add the scholarship fund as part of our sponsorship to help more kids get on the field and experience that for themselves."

Carvana trades at 28.7x earnings despite 8.9% margin and 94% crash history

Carvana grew revenue 52% and sold 38% more retail cars in the second quarter of 2026, hitting company records. Despite this growth, the stock has fallen 15.1% over the past twelve months, underperforming the S&P 500's 17.1% return. The company trades at 28.7 times earnings, above the S&P 500's 21.5 multiple, whilst its operating margin of 8.9% trails the index's 18.5%. Management has identified inventory constraints, with supply expanding slower than sales for several months. Carvana forecast adjusted EBITDA between $2.7 billion and $3.0 billion for 2026, up from $2.24 billion last year. However, the stock has shown significant volatility during market downturns, falling 42% during the 2025 tariff shock compared to the S&P 500's 19% decline.

Meta's Muse AI agent could reshape car buying, making Carvana's logistics more valuable

Meta's Muse AI agent can browse websites, fill out forms, and negotiate on behalf of car buyers. Morgan Stanley believes this technology could significantly impact auto retail, as cars are expensive, bought infrequently, and difficult to compare. In a 28 September report, analysts led by Daniela Haigian identified Carvana as the best-positioned auto retailer for the AI agent era. Whilst AI agents can find and compare vehicles, they cannot inspect, recondition, transport, or deliver cars. Morgan Stanley argues Carvana's national inventory, inspection centres, reconditioning facilities, and logistics network become more valuable when AI agents handle initial search and comparison work. The bank expects price, available inventory, and transaction efficiency to matter more as agents automate early shopping stages. Franchise dealers may face increased pressure from this shift.

Carvana shares jump 5% as Jefferies tracks 40% unit growth in September

Carvana's stock rose 5% to $63.62 on 29 September 2026, following a Jefferies report showing approximately 40% unit growth in early September. The online car dealer benefited from a broader sector rally after CarMax posted better-than-expected quarterly results. Jefferies data indicates Carvana's unit growth rebounded from 23% in early July to 41% in August, driven by expanded reconditioning capacity and new productivity software. The firm forecasts roughly 35% third-quarter unit growth. Carvana's second-quarter adjusted EBITDA reached a record $769 million, though margins fell to 10.43% from 12.42% year-on-year. The company expects full-year margins around 9% to 10%, below 2025's 11%. Third-quarter results are expected in late October, with consensus revenue forecasts of $7.6 billion.

Why is Carvana stock sliding today?

Why is Carvana stock sliding today? Published Sep 28, 2026, 11:15 AM (C) Reuters. Investing.com - Carvana Co. stock slid 5.7% in morning trading to trade at $61.33, pressured by a toxic mix of unresolved company-specific overhang and a risk-off session across U.S. equity markets, with no fresh positive catalyst available to stem the selling. The move pushes shares closer to their 52-week low of $54.46, a level that underscores just how far the stock has retreated from its 52-week peak of $97.38 reached in January 2026. The most persistent cloud over Carvana in 2026 has been a federal investigation into billionaire Mark Walter, who indirectly controls a meaningful stake in the company's Class B common stock. Prosecutors and the SEC have been scrutinizing whether certain financial relationships were concealed while billions moved through insurance entities tied to his empire, stoking investor fears about potential forced liquidation of his Carvana position. Separately, a short-seller report earlier in the year alleging accounting irregularities tied to related-party transactions triggered a securities fraud investigation, further eroding confidence in the stock. On the macro front, the broader market is under pressure today, with the S&P 500 off 0.8%, the Dow down 0.7%, and the Nasdaq declining 0.9%. For a stock with a beta as elevated as Carvana's - historically ranging between 2.8 and 3.5 - a down day for the major indices tends to translate into an outsized decline. The consumer discretionary sector, where Carvana competes alongside peers such as CarMax and AutoNation, has broadly underperformed the market in 2026 amid concerns about high interest rates squeezing demand for large-ticket purchases like used vehicles. -4.59 (-7.06%) Closed · 15:59:59 · USD +0.33 (+0.55%) After Hours · 15:15:45 Start trading CVNA now Taken together, today's decline reflects the compounding effect of a high-beta stock carrying unresolved legal and regulatory risk into a weak tape. With the next earnings report expected around late October 2026, investors appear reluctant to add exposure ahead of what could be a pivotal quarter for management to reassure the market, leaving CVNA vulnerable to further selling pressure in the near term.
