Senior PV Performance Engineer
About the job
- At least 5 years of experience in solar photovoltaic performance engineering, asset management, or performance analytics.
- Strong experience with PVsyst and photovoltaic performance modeling.
- Experience analyzing SCADA and time-series operational data.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Knowledge of solar plant key performance indicators, energy losses, and performance testing.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, inverters, trackers, and solar operations.
- Analyze operational and SCADA data from solar photovoltaic plants.
- Evaluate plant performance against expected energy production.
- Develop performance models and predictive analytics solutions.
- Identify energy losses, equipment issues, and underperformance drivers.
- Calculate key performance metrics, including performance ratio, availability, and energy performance indicators.
- Collaborate with Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance, Data Science, and Software teams.
- Support automation of reporting and analytics using modern programming tools and artificial-intelligence-enabled workflows.
- Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation; provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Experience with pvlib or NREL System Advisor Model (SAM).
- Experience with machine learning.
- Experience with AWS or Azure.
- Experience with ASTM or IEC performance testing.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management system platforms such as Fiix, Maximo, or Sitetracker.
- PMP certification.
