Requirements
  • Must hold and maintain current Registered Behavior Technician certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
  • Must participate in the company background check process if extended an offer.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have reliable transportation and, in some cases, proof of a driver's license and valid car insurance.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and complete a TB test if one has not been completed in the past year.
  • Must be physically able to get down on the floor and stand up repeatedly, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly when needed to interact with and protect children.
  • Must be able to attend each scheduled therapy appointment reliably.
  • Must maintain professional presentation and conduct.
  • Must maintain patience to help clients stay on task and emotional control when a client acts out physically or verbally.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and perform repetitive tasks precisely.
  • Must be able to follow and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Must be able to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency and remain flexible and open-minded.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in one-to-one and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in each client's individualized treatment plan, as developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified professional.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training according to the client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Complete documentation on time and according to established procedures.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers about client progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified professional.
  • Use safe and appropriate procedures when working with clients and report critical incidents and safety concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist the Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified professional with preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skill acquisition.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a behavioral technician, or experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities, as a teacher's aide, tutor, certified nursing assistant, caregiver, or home health aide.
