Prior experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical distributor, with demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes, is required.
Experience with mechanical or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractors or distributors; plumbing or piping contractors or distributors; fire protection or sprinkler systems; or low-voltage, telecommunications, or structured cabling companies will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Partner with Project Managers to plan and execute purchasing strategies aligned with project estimates and timelines.
Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to protect company interests.
Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals and make recommendations.
Track and ensure timely receipt of contracts, insurance certificates, and required documentation.
Coordinate with Fleet, Logistics, and Project Teams on equipment and material needs.
Maintain accurate data in project and cost systems.
Support cost control and estimating initiatives through accurate reporting and insights.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Vista/Viewpoint is preferred.
Two or more years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry is preferred.
Experience with low-voltage or wireless work is preferred.
Experience with commercial and/or industrial projects is desirable.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support our electrical construction projects from our Pittsburgh, PA office. This role is critical to ensuring materials, equipment, and services are procured accurately, competitively, and on schedule.

What You’ll Do:

Required Experience:

An electrical contractor, or
An electrical distributor,

with demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes.

2+ years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry preferred
