Requirements
- For the Nurse Practitioner path, an MSN, an active Registered Nurse license from the Virginia Board of Nursing, and Nurse Practitioner certification are required.
- For the Physician Assistant path, an MPA and a Physician Assistant license within the Commonwealth of Virginia are required.
- The ability to function independently and as a member of a healthcare team to deliver quality care to diabetic patients is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical care to patients in an office or hospital setting.
- Collaborate with nursing, office staff, and administration in patient care.
- Collaborate with peers and support staff.
- Participate in academic, clinical, and research activities as needed.
- Participate in educational evaluations and career development for students, residents, fellows, and staff.
- Participate in assigned committees.
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with diabetes or certification in diabetes education is preferred.
