  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of physical principles, laws, their interrelationships, and applications to fluid, material, mechanical, electrical, structural, and other processes.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about them.
  • Ability to monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to verify that machinery is operating properly.
  • Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Ability to determine the tools and equipment needed to complete a job.
  • Ability to visualize how objects will look after being moved or rearranged.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine or vehicle controls to exact positions.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body, arms, and legs.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated finger movements to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work involving two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the facility structure in repair.
  • Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator-provided information to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools, then reassemble the equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep machines operating smoothly, building systems operating efficiently, and buildings in good physical condition.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance actions according to checklists.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Observe and test machinery and equipment operation to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify that repairs are adequate.
  • Reassemble equipment after inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Repair and maintain industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning machinery and equipment components.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturer manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Assemble, install, and repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
  • Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Perform all duties to the prescribed standard.

Platform Science first to achieve Canadian ELD certification on Daimler Truck's factory-installed CTP2 platform

Platform Science has become the first company to achieve Canadian electronic logging device certification on Daimler Truck North America's factory-installed Common Telematics Platform 2. The certification enables fleets operating Freightliner and Western Star vehicles equipped with CTP2 to run integrated compliance solutions across the US and Canada without aftermarket hardware. CTP2 is DTNA's factory-installed telematics platform available in Fourth Generation Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner Plus series and Western Star X-Series vehicles. The certification allows fleets to use Platform Science's ELD natively, simplifying compliance for Canadian and cross-border operations. Built on Platform Science's Virtual Vehicle platform, the solution provides a unified system for compliance, telematics and driver applications. Canadian ELDs must be independently certified by third-party bodies accredited by the Minister of Transport and undergo annual retesting.

Aeva has delivered initial C-sample units of its Atlas 4D LiDAR sensors to Daimler Truck North America and Torc Robotics, marking a significant milestone towards series production of SAE Level 4 autonomous Class 8 semi-trucks. Aeva is the exclusive long-range LiDAR supplier for autonomous Freightliner Cascadia trucks in North America. The Atlas sensor uses Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave technology to simultaneously measure range and velocity for every detected point, enabling long-range detection up to 500 metres. This allows autonomous trucks to perceive hazards at highway speeds and distinguish moving objects from static elements.
