Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential is required.
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required or the candidate must be eligible to obtain one, with a driving record meeting Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • The ability to verify clinical activities with certified clinical personnel is required.
  • The ability to follow written and verbal directions is required.
  • Hand skills necessary to use laboratory tools safely and effectively are required.
  • Knowledge of biomechanical principles is required.
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patients and staff are required.
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and plan to meet deadlines are required.
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member is required.
  • Compliance with clinical protocols, safety regulations, Medicare and other governmental regulations, blood-borne pathogen requirements, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist certified clinicians in delivering patient care services under direct supervision.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for clinical procedures.
  • Perform technical fabrication tasks, including making and modifying molds.
  • Execute treatment modifications, adjustments, and repairs as directed by the supervising clinician.
  • Fit and provide soft-goods items to patients.
  • Provide alterations and adjustments to soft-goods items as needed.
  • Provide orthotics fitting services independently.
  • Assist with selected patient follow-up care under clinician direction.
  • Complete and maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care provided.
  • Communicate patient information and care outcomes to the supervising clinician.
  • Ensure that patient procedures comply with clinical protocols and standards.
  • Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory monitoring of prosthetic and orthotic materials.
  • Contact and coordinate with vendors to order necessary materials and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preference is given to allied health professionals such as Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapist Assistants, and athletic trainers.
  • Candidates holding a recognized license or certification in a related allied health profession may be supervised under indirect supervision.

Hanger acquires Liberating Technologies to advance prosthetic research and development

Hanger, Inc., a leading orthotic and prosthetic patient care provider, has acquired Liberating Technologies, Inc. (LTI), a research organisation founded in 2000 and previously owned by Coapt. LTI's research team has secured numerous government-funded grants since 2008 to develop next-generation technologies for the orthotic and prosthetic field. LTI will join Hanger Ventures and the Hanger Institute for Clinical Research and Education to drive innovation in clinical care. The team will continue current grant-funded initiatives, including advancing voice-recognition technology for prosthesis control and developing socket cooling systems for residual limb skin health. Hanger acquired Coapt, LTI's previous owner, in 2025. With this acquisition, the complete Coapt portfolio now belongs to Hanger, which operates more than 925 clinic locations across the United States.
