Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a STEM major from an accredited college or university is required.
  • At least 1 year of engineering experience with excitation or power electronics hardware and/or software control systems is required.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Longmont/Denver, Colorado area.
  • Must be able to commute to and from the Longmont, Colorado location using personal transportation arrangements and meet the required working hours.
Responsibilities
  • Review project information, including schedules, process flows, manuals, commercial documentation, and engineering specifications, to understand project scope.
  • Apply electrical and mechanical engineering principles to analyze, design, test, and troubleshoot industrial process control systems while minimizing cost.
  • Ensure all products meet quality control standards.
  • Design and understand technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Take full ownership of nuclear generator excitation control systems from concept to delivery.
  • Release complete panel drawings, including layouts, schematics, wiring, and terminations, and bills of material for manufacturing.
  • Develop, configure, and test excitation control software.
  • Support software and hardware factory acceptance testing.
  • Support customers on assigned excitation system projects by responding to technical queries, resolving issues, and coordinating projects.
  • Understand how systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment, and other conditions affect the process.
  • Provide customers with technical direction and support as part of a team.
  • Support site commissioning and internal and external customer communication.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, control, and process issues on live systems and simulations.
  • Design control systems that interface with existing unit operations equipment, and evaluate system components, requirements, and interactions.
  • Program and configure control system software in a visual programming language.
  • Coordinate and lead technical design reviews of projects, and update and archive required documentation.
  • Resolve technical problems, particularly those involving power plant and other industrial operations.
  • Create project documentation according to established processes and customized needs.
  • Ensure project execution complies with company health, safety, and environmental guidelines and procedures.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
  • Support sales activities to ensure accurate customer proposals and other commercial needs.
  • Interface with management, project managers, colleagues, and other engineers to keep stakeholders informed of project risks during execution.
  • Be accountable for project deliverables, customer critical-to-quality compliance, and on-time schedule performance.
  • Interact frequently with customers and suppliers.
  • Support streamlining engineering processes and business growth.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with control systems from manufacturers such as GE, Emerson, ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Brush, and Reivax.
  • Hands-on experience with Toolbox ST and AutoCAD for schematics and layouts.
  • Experience developing and reviewing panel schematics and outlines.
  • Ability to review and approve vendor drawings for controllers, exciters, relays, and similar equipment.
  • Experience supporting site commissioning, troubleshooting, signal checks, and interface problem solving.
  • Ability to prepare technical documents, bills of quantity, and as-built drawings.
  • Knowledge of power generation, generator excitation systems including automatic voltage regulators, and synchronization.
  • Understanding of power plant control systems.
  • Familiarity with nuclear or high-reliability standards, including IEEE, IEC, and ASME, and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical and mechanical control systems.
  • Strong process discipline and analytical and statistical skills.

Quest Global, a global outsourced engineering services provider, has secured a minority investment from Hillhouse Investment through a combination of primary capital infusion and share purchases from existing stakeholders. The transaction involves funds managed by Hillhouse Investment Management. AROBS acquires Quest Global Romania in all-stock deal with one-year lock-up

Romanian tech group AROBS is acquiring Quest Global Romania from Craiova in an all-stock transaction, marking the company's first acquisition paid entirely through share issuance. The newly issued shares will be subject to a one-year lock-up period. Quest Global Romania, headquartered in Craiova, employs approximately 110 specialists and provides software development, testing, embedded solutions and IT consulting services across sectors including semiconductors, healthcare and automotive. The company is part of Singapore-based Quest Global, which operates in 18 countries with over 22,000 employees. The acquisition strengthens AROBS's engineering capabilities and international presence. Quest Global Romania's management will continue under Ana-Maria Vasilescu's leadership. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of the year.
