Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience as a head chef, preferably in collective or traditional catering.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with different departments.
  • Ability to manage budgets, orders, and food stocks independently.
  • Sensitivity to the specific needs of older adults and the medical requirements related to their diets.
  • Initial management experience, as well as skills in cooking and pastry-making.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise meal preparation and presentation in compliance with quality and food-safety standards, including HACCP.
  • Collaborate closely with the management team to promote cohesion and excellence within the executive committee (CODIR).
  • Communicate regularly with nursing coordinators (IDEC) and coordinating physicians (Medco) to ensure residents receive food suited to their medical needs.
  • Apply culinary techniques and product-quality standards, regularly tasting products and ensuring attractive plate presentation.
  • Propose ongoing improvements to menus and food-service offerings.
  • Manage food budgets, orders, and stocks rigorously.
  • Report stock progress regularly to the Facility Director and Deputy Director.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate the kitchen team, and maintain functional coordination with service teams to support residents' care and well-being.
Desired Qualifications
  • A diploma in cookery or hotel management is an asset.
  • Experience in collective or traditional catering is preferred.
