  • A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant operations or production management experience is required, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • The role requires the ability to access and navigate manufacturing and production areas regularly.
  • The role requires the ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day plant operations and ensure facilities meet annual revenue and expense budgets.
  • Monitor project backlogs and production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Manage production and maintenance budgets, control costs, and improve resource utilization.
  • Optimize staffing, equipment, raw materials, and other operational resources across manufacturing locations.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Balance customer demand with plant capacity, staffing, materials, and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and purchasing teams to manage material procurement, optimize logistics, and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  • Keep projects on schedule and proactively address risks that could affect customer delivery dates.
  • Partner with plant supervisors to coordinate equipment maintenance and minimize production disruptions.
  • Oversee plant-level inventory, bills of materials, routings, and maintenance, repair, and operations supplies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, Territory Managers, Field Service Specialists, Inside Sales, and other departments to align production activities with company objectives.
  • Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Improve on-time delivery, product quality, and customer satisfaction at each plant.
  • Analyze production metrics and workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using 5S, Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Identify employee skill gaps and develop team members through proficiency scorecards, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Partner with the quality team to improve the RMA process and resolve product concerns accurately.
  • Implement and enforce quality-control standards so finished products meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Support the integration of acquisitions and the build-out of new or expanded manufacturing facilities.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Operations to identify facilities that support the company’s strategic growth plan.
  • Determine equipment, utility, and infrastructure requirements for new or expanded locations.
  • Coordinate with vendors on equipment relocation, installation, and power requirements.
  • Work with plant teams to develop layouts that optimize safety, production flow, and efficiency.
  • Communicate staffing, equipment, material, and resource needs to senior leadership.
  • Ensure facilities and manufacturing processes comply with health, safety, environmental, and industry-specific requirements, including OSHA standards.
  • Develop, communicate, and enforce safety policies while fostering a prevention-focused safety culture.
  • Maintain accurate environmental and safety documentation for every manufacturing location in a shared system.
  • Ensure manufacturing locations maintain active permits and comply with applicable requirements.
  • Lead 5S standards across manufacturing facilities to promote safe, clean, organized, and efficient workplaces.
  • Oversee accident, injury, and near-miss reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and required workplace safety training.
  • Promote accountability for maintaining safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing environments.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, adhesive products, coating lines, or converting operations is preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus.
