Requirements
- A high school education or equivalent is required.
- At least one year of experience is required, with combined education and experience accepted as a substitute.
- Medical office management and medical secretarial experience are required.
- Candidates should have a strong interest in pursuing a career in physical therapy, particularly as pre-Doctor of Physical Therapy candidates.
- Candidates must have organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Support physical therapists in the clinic by improving efficiencies and assisting with patient-related and administrative tasks.
- Schedule patient appointments, answer general questions, and obtain authorizations for services.
- Prepare patient charts and ensure that all necessary records, imaging, and lab work are available.
- Set up examination rooms, assist during examinations, and monitor patient flow.
- Review and code charge slips, develop insurance claim documentation, and submit claims.
- Maintain files, supplies, and equipment; perform photocopying, faxing, mailing, and errands as needed.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, travel, and other related administrative support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
