- A minimum of 6 years of grocery sales experience, including independent and/or chain accounts, is preferred.
- Experience managing a geographic territory greater than $5 million.
- A minimum of 4 years of people-management experience.
Responsibilities
- Own sales and profitability for the territory and team accountabilities.
- Lead and educate the team to execute marketing programs to grow sales and bring innovation to stores.
- Collaborate with category management and senior sales management to produce specific sales objectives that support company sales growth targets.
- Coordinate activities and communications among suppliers and company functional groups.
- Analyze sales territories and recommend improvements as appropriate.
- Lead conversations about program options while ensuring efficiencies are realized.
- Define and communicate goals and strategy for the assigned sales area in alignment with the Director of Sales.
- Ensure all KPDs, sales targets, and contribution margins are met.
- Maintain effective working relationships with store management and vendor partners within the defined area.
- Educate customers on items and categories to keep them on trend.
- Coach, counsel, train, and evaluate employees’ job performance to help them meet assigned objectives and develop their skills.
- Monitor competitor activities and help develop strategies to win.
- Maintain a pipeline of potential customers.
- Monitor and assist with accounts receivable activities.
- Budget and manage sales and expenses related to assigned customers, including sales, credits, expenses, merchandising hours, drop size, and extra performance activities.
- Communicate and work with other KeHE functional areas to meet company objectives.
- Provide guidance on forecasting demand for new and promotional items.
- Coordinate route coverage for sales representatives who are on vacation, leave of absence, or otherwise need coverage.
