Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude during interactions.
  • Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information and diffusing angry customers as needed.
  • Assist all internal and external customers in a professional manner.
  • After competency approval, complete bracing as needed, including examining, interviewing, and measuring patients to determine appliance needs and identify factors that could affect appliance fit.
  • Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, and make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.
  • Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses, prostheses, diabetic shoes, and mastectomy products when applicable.
  • Maintain patient records.
  • Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Receive requests from phone, fax, e-commerce, and in-person sources and complete the necessary process for equipment services.
  • Coordinate home equipment service requests with Dispatch for prompt delivery.
  • Acquire and retain strong product knowledge to provide customers with product and service information.
  • Keep the showroom and shelf inventory clean, rotated, and organized.
  • Verify medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services, and work with referral sources to ensure proper documentation when needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment.
  • Follow policies and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance processing.
  • Understand and strive to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service.
  • Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Pursuant to the definitive agreement, Quipt will acquire a 60% ownership interest in Hart Medical Equipment (“Hart“), with the remaining 40% interest collectively held by major health systems, Henry Ford Health, McLaren Health Care, Blanchard Valley Health System, Wood County Hospital and The Bellevue Hospital. This strategic transaction is expected to enhance Quipt’s presence in the Midwest, add deep healthcare system partnerships, and provide the Company with immediate entry into Michigan, a large and strategically important market, and new territories in Ohio.
