- A successfully completed university degree, preferably in economics/business, mathematics, or a comparable field.
- Several years of professional experience as a contract underwriter at a reinsurer.
- Business-fluent German and English skills in speaking and writing.
- Strong numerical and information-technology affinity, analytical ability, and entrepreneurial judgment.
- Substantial experience in customer support, negotiation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently, in a structured and proactive manner.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30 days per year.
- Serve as a central contact for customers in selected markets, regularly travel to those countries, and represent R+V Re at international conferences.
- Maintain and manage business relationships and actively shape the reinsurance portfolio.
- Independently analyze markets, customers, and risks and make informed underwriting decisions based on profitability, diversification, and sustainable portfolio development.
- Develop solutions for complex questions with an interdisciplinary team of experts from mathematics, insurance, law, and natural sciences.
- Negotiate with customers and brokers on the structure of reinsurance contracts.
- Take on special and project assignments as needed.
- Spanish language skills.
- Openness to people and cultures, curiosity about new topics, and the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex issues.
