Exclusive: CMC Markets' Head of APAC & Canada matthew Lewis to separate after two decades. Matthew Lewis, CMC Markets' Head of Asia Pacific and Canada, is separating from the broker, Finance Magnates has learned. He was also on the broker's board of directors, but ended that role in the middle of last year. The end of a long tenure. According to his LinkedIn profile, Sydney-based Lewis has been heading the APAC and Canada business of the London-listed broker for the past 13 years. He, however, joined the broker in late 2005 and spent more than two decades with the broker. It remains unclear who would replace Lewis at CMC as the new Head of Asia Pacific and Canada. Furthermore, his next move also remains unknown. Finance Magnates reached out to Lewism but has not received any response as of press time, while CMC Markets declined to comment on "individual employment matters." CMC's Growing Business in APAC. The exit came when CMC positioned itself as one of the top brokers in Australia. Its dominance in the country came from its white-label institutional deals with Westpac and ANZ. In the region, the broker also has a similar deal with ASB Bank, New Zealand's second-largest bank, with about 150,000 share trading customers. CMC's Aussie business alone contributed £115.2 million to the broker's overall revenue last fiscal year, a 5.5 per cent increase. It is only behind the UK, which brought in about £133.4 million. "The Australian stockbroking business secured what I believe to be our most significant B2B partnership to date," CMC's founder and CEO, Peter Cruddas, wrote in the company's latest preliminary financial filings. The broker also plans to launch its securities insurance business (warrants and certificates) next year, a product already offered in Europe. CMC Markets launches new ChatGPT integration. Global multi-asset financial services firm CMC Markets is launching a new ChatGPT integration, enabling UK CFD clients to access and explore supported account and market information through conversational prompts. By connecting a supported CMC CFD account, clients can use ChatGPT to retrieve and summarise information grounded in their CMC account and market data, including balances, account values, positions, orders, supported products, pricing and historical market information. This integration introduces a simpler, conversational way for clients to interact confidently with their CFD account. Clients can ask questions to surface relevant information about their account and supported markets, rather than navigating between different screens and datasets. The initial integration is read-only, providing access to financial information while keeping trading and account activity separate. ChatGPT cannot place, amend or cancel orders, open or close positions, move funds, or make other changes to a client's CMC account. Once connected, clients can use prompts to explore their account and supported markets. CMC Markets to launch prop trading services on 1 October. CMC Markets Funded has set 1 October 2026 as the public launch date for its simulated trading evaluation programme, replacing its previous "coming soon" page with a countdown and an early-access form. Industry site Tradeinformer recently published that a marketing company working with the broker said the London-listed firm is currently in the process of setting up the product. Legal documents published on CMC Markets Funded website identify Dubai-based True North Tech L.L.C-FZ as the operator. According to the terms, the company runs the platform under a written Marketing Services Agreement with CMC Markets Singapore Pte. Ltd. CMC Singapore agreement and MatchTrader link. The documents name CMC Singapore as the programme's "exclusive financial services and online brokerage partner," providing marketing, brand, data, governance and other operational support. However, the terms draw a legal distinction between the two companies. True North Tech is the customer's contractual counterparty and is responsible for fees, participant accounts, rewards and refunds. It is not owned or controlled by CMC Markets Singapore, CMC Markets plc or another CMC Group entity. CMC Singapore is consequently not the operator or guarantor of the programme, while its regulatory status does not extend to CMC Markets Funded. The platform's trading infrastructure also appears to involve Match-Trader. A DNS record for trade.cmcmarketsfunded.com directs the subdomain to mtr-cmcmarkets.match-trade.com, while the newly published terms specifically refer to MatchTrader oversight, transaction histories and risk-monitoring tools. However, it does not identify the contracting entity or confirm whether a commercial agreement is currently in place. Signs of pre-launch activity. Before the launch date was disclosed, additional signs of pre-launch activity had emerged through the project's Trustpilot profile. It contains a verified review describing the purchase of a $10,000 challenge and access to a trading dashboard. CMC Markets Funded responded to the review on the day it was published. The review predates the announced public opening, making its timing consistent with limited or invited testing. The disclosed arrangement is consistent with a CMC Singapore job advertisement for a Payment Network and Solutions Executive. The listing says the employee would support the integration and day-to-day operation of payment services within CMC Markets Funded, including deposits, payouts, refunds and settlements. The early-access page now allows prospective users to request an access code before the public opening. It describes CMC Markets Funded as a simulated trading evaluation programme: participants do not trade live company capital, and any payouts are contractual rewards based on simulated performance. Finance Magnates contacted CMC Markets and Match-Trader for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
