About the job

Requirements
  • 10+ years building production software and 3+ years as a senior staff engineer, principal, architect, or CTO at a product company.
  • Deep experience with at least two of the following: large Rails or Python monoliths, production computer vision pipelines, LLM or agent systems at scale, and data-intensive B2B SaaS.
  • Hands-on fluency with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and/or GCP, PostgreSQL at scale, background job systems such as RabbitMQ and Sidekiq, and modern deployment practices.
  • A track record of leading architectural decisions that held up under 10× or greater growth.
  • Must have written and shipped production code in the last six months and plan to continue doing so.
  • Familiarity with SRE and DevOps, including Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD, and ability to drive and collaborate with dedicated SRE teammates.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end technical architecture across the Rails product application, Python machine-learning and computer-vision services, agent SDK layer, and data platform, including tradeoffs between enterprise customer requirements and shipping speed.
  • Drive scalability, reliability, and cost architecture for computer-vision, LLM, and VLM inference pipelines as blueprint throughput scales by 100×.
  • Set technical direction for model infrastructure, including vision models, LLM orchestration, agent runtime, MLflow registry, evaluation harnesses, and GPU budget.
  • Lead architectural reviews, raise the engineering bar through code reviews and design documents, and mentor senior engineers on cross-system tradeoffs.
  • Partner with the CEO and product team on the 12–18 month technical roadmap, including decisions about what to build in-house, buy, or deprecate, and when to invest in platform versus features.
  • Write code, participate in incident response and pull-request review, and solve the hardest technical problems on a weekly basis.
Desired Qualifications
  • Construction, AEC, or other vertical SaaS experience, or having technically taken a company from Series A to Series C.

About the company

Boon is a SaaS platform for commercial fleets that automates workflows to boost profitability. It connects with existing systems like transportation management systems (TMS), electronic logging devices (ELDs), and payroll platforms, so fleets can adopt it with little disruption. The system uses large language models and transportation data to handle tasks such as data entry, document processing, and driver communications. It finds profitable loads, selects the best headhauls and backhauls, optimizes load choices, and provides real-time alerts. It also helps manage driver logs by spotting missing information and sending automated notifications, and it can recommend fuel stations to cut costs. Boon targets fleet operators and aims to double efficiency and profitability by reducing operating expenses and fully automating workflows.

Boon AI launches estimator that cuts three-week construction bids to seven minutes

Boon AI has opened early access to Boon Agent, an AI estimator for construction that completes work typically taking three weeks in an afternoon. The tool handles the entire bidding process — triaging bids, reviewing specifications, identifying drawing conflicts, running quantity takeoffs, generating trade requests for quotes, and levelling subcontractor bids. In one project, work requiring roughly three weeks was completed in seven minutes. The system cross-references plans and specifications to catch conflicts, remembers project details, and monitors planrooms for updates while working autonomously. "Estimating is the only seat in construction where we still expect one person to hold the entire project in their head," said Deepti, founder and CEO of Boon AI. The tool serves subcontractors, general contractors, and civil teams. Early access requires only an email, with no procurement cycle needed.
