Requirements
  • A master's degree is required; candidates with a bachelor's degree and/or at least 10 years of leadership experience in higher education may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5–10 years of related work experience is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise systems such as Ellucian Banner, Workday Student, or PeopleSoft is required.
  • Experience with database query tools, degree audit systems such as DegreeWorks, and regulatory reporting to federal or state bodies is required.
  • Ability to lead teams and use an open, collaborative leadership style that builds trust across constituencies and campuses.
  • Experience bringing individuals with varying backgrounds and viewpoints together to find common ground.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer systems, data mining, and information technology, with experience developing and using these technologies in a large and complex university setting.
  • Experience using information technology systems to provide solutions to the academic community, including using artificial intelligence to improve processes and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide employees with timely and challenging professional development opportunities to improve their skills and institutional effectiveness.
  • Maintain productivity and quality metrics for the team and office.
  • Ensure office staff are trained on system functionality, business processes, data standards, security requirements, reporting tools, and applicable policies.
  • Collaborate across the office and University to enhance working relationships.
  • Serve as the technical expert for core student information system applications and related technologies.
  • Support applications including National Student Clearinghouse, NSLDS, Campus Solutions, Civitas, CourseDog, Parchment, Canusia, Imaging, SharePoint, and other registrar-related products interfacing with the student module.
  • Coordinate accurate and timely transmission of required data and reports to internal and external entities.
  • Analyze operational and business processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, data integrity, and service delivery improvements.
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and provide analysis for institutional decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot system and process issues, coordinate problem resolution, and communicate impacts and recommended solutions to stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation for critical systems, processes, procedures, and recurring operational activities.
  • Develop communications about system changes, technical requirements, process impacts, implementation timelines, outages, enhancements, and operational expectations.
  • Translate complex technical and functional information into practical guidance for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and campus partners.
  • Review communications and instructional materials for technical accuracy, clarity, consistency, grammar, and policy alignment.
  • Coordinate change-management communications supporting adoption of new systems, processes, reports, and technology-enabled services.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations and policies; design reports supporting data integrity and access and role security.
  • Fulfill National Student Clearinghouse, NSLDS, FVT/GE, internal audit, single audit, and other federal reporting obligations within regulatory standards.
  • Delegate user-role provisioning to campus registrar staff for processing.
  • Apply FERPA and other data-security policies and oversee and approve sensitive data requests.
  • Represent the Office of the Registrar on enterprise technology, student information system, data governance, and process-improvement committees.
  • Participate in University projects involving academic records, enrollment, curriculum, registration, graduation, reporting, and student services.
  • Work additional hours during peak academic periods, system implementations, reporting deadlines, and special events as operational needs require.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the University Registrar.
